Kirat joined Alkyl Amine Chemicals Limited, a start-up, in 1980 and has been with the company since then. The company, which manufactures and markets speciality chemicals, has a turnover of over Rs. 1100 crores. He has seen the company grow many folds in the last four decades wearing many hats, primarily finance and operations, and has played an active role in its growth including in the takeover and turnaround of its subsidiary in Baroda, Diamines and Chemicals Limited. Currently, he is the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the company. He is on the Board of Directors of listed companies, viz., Alkyl Amines Chemicals Ltd., Diamines and Chemicals Ltd., and Kaira Can Ltd., serving on various Board Committees.
Kirat holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay and a Masters in Management Studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management, Bombay.
