Insights into Cutting-Edge Medical Imaging: A Talk by Dr. Raj Kothapalli at IIT Hyderabad

We were honored to have CfHE Vagbhata Chair Professor Dr. Raj Kothapalli, Associate Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Pennsylvania State University, speak to our students on the fascinating topic of “Lights, Sound, and Action: Multimodal Ultrasound and Photoacoustic Imaging Strategies for Pre-clinical and Clinical Applications.” @ IIT Hyderabad

Dr. Kothapalli shared his groundbreaking work, including:

a. The first-in-human prostate cancer imaging using a transrectal endoscope.
b. Development of a portable system for diagnosing peripheral arterial disease in resource-poor settings.
c. Innovative research into brain cancer mechanisms and neural activity in pre-clinical rodent models.
We are grateful for the insights and inspiration provided by Dr. Kothapalli, as our students continue to explore the intersection of technology and healthcare.

The MASTER Forum (Mentoring and Assistance for Successful Translational and Entrepreneurial Research) was a resounding success!
