Course Description:

This intensive course provides practical training in establishing and maintaining a robust Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) system in an IVF laboratory. Participants will learn about the validation, calibration, and monitoring of critical equipment and processes, including culture systems, air quality, pH, and temperature optimization. The course also covers risk management, traceability, stock management, and the use of KPIs and audits to ensure consistent laboratory performance. Designed for professionals aiming to refine their expertise in quality management, this course combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on training in real-world laboratory scenarios.

Course Objectives:

  • Develop skills to monitor, calibrate, and validate equipment and culture systems, including pH, temperature, and osmolality.
  • Gain expertise in handling and storing consumables with effective inventory management.
  • Learn to implement risk management and traceability systems, including electronic witnessing.

Course Structure:

  • Day 1:
    • Introduction to QC and QA in IVF laboratories
    • Hands-on calibration and validation of laboratory equipment, including pH, temperature, and osmolality measurements
    • Techniques for monitoring air quality and VOCs in the lab
  • Day 2:
    • Practical exercises in culture media handling, aliquoting, and storage
    • Process mapping, SOP development, and inventory management
    • Hands-on audits and troubleshooting of common QC issues
